When you’re browsing whom
mart, we attempt to show the most relevant tax info based on your inferred location. However, until your address is confirmed at checkout, this is only a best guess, and may not be correct (for example, a VPN may cause you to see a different location).
Selecting a currency may show you tax info for an inferred country. For example, selecting USD may show you US tax info. However, taxes/duties are determined by your delivery address, not the choice of currency.
Depending on where your order is delivered, your local tax authority may apply import taxes or charges when the parcel arrives in your country. What applies to you depends on your delivery address; find your region below.
Shipping fees, where applicable, are listed at checkout. Where this document uses phrases like “nothing further to pay”, this is in reference to taxes, duties, and similar; shipping fees are assumed.
This page and its policies may change at any time. Where there are material changes, we will display the changes prominently in the order flow (such as on product pages) so that potential customers are notified before checkout. Please be aware that, even if you have placed an order with us before, these terms may have changed since then.

United Kingdom
Your price includes UK VAT at 20%. There are no import costs and no on-delivery fees. The UK actually has a very convenient treaty with the UK that allows us to export goods from the UK to the UK without incurring additional costs.
United States
Your price is shown in full at checkout. We don’t collect sales tax as none is required (see below).
We cover all duties, tariffs, surcharges, carrier fees etc up front, so there is nothing additional for you to pay on delivery. We generally fulfil US orders via PDDP, which allows us to prepay these.
sales tax note
whomtech currently operates below the threshold at which sales tax is due in US states. Future order volume and/or transactions may carry us above the thresholds in some or all states.
If/when this happens, this policy will be updated and made visible as part of the order flow for all future orders. This won’t be applied retroactively to any pending orders.
European Union
EU shipping is currently unavailable. We’re aiming to open the store to EU customers from August 15th.
Selling to the EU creates significant additional administrative requirements and financial burdens. For example, we’re required to appoint a number of EU representatives, outnumbering whomtech’s entire existing staff at least 2-to-1. This is concerning, because it means they might be able to beat us up.
We are working hard to open whommart to EU customers as soon as possible.
Canada
Canadian deliveries will incur a handling fee + sales tax (GST, HST, PST, and/or QST depending on your province, at your province’s rate) on delivery. There’s no customs duty, as our goods are UK-made.
Canada Post collects a flat C$9.95 handling fee, plus your province’s sales tax on the value of the goods. At time of writing this is typically 5% in most provinces, and 13-15% in Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
As an example, for a C$225 order, here are representative estimates of fees/tax due on delivery:
- Ontario — ~C$40
- BC, Alberta, Sask, Manitoba, Quebec — ~C$20-25
- Nova Scotia — C$40-45
- NB, NL, PEI — C$45
These are intended to be reasonably illustrative and the actual amount to pay may be higher (or, hopefully, lower).
This process isn’t ideal, and we’re trying to figure out a better way. If you have any suggestions for how we can ship to Canada more efficiently, please let us know at support@whomtech.tech.
Australia
For standard orders with a customs value under A$1,000, there is nothing extra to pay on delivery. No GST and no customs duty are due — the price you see is the total price.
(In future, if whomtech exceeds the threshold at which GST is due, we will be required to collect GST at checkout. This policy will be updated and made visible as part of the order flow for all future orders.)
Please note: if you place a very large order shipped together in a single parcel valued over A$1,000, standard import GST and charges may apply on that parcel. If you’re planning on placing an order above this threshold, please contact us at support@whomtech.tech and we’ll figure out the most efficient way to deliver your order.
other regions
We don’t generally deliver to regions other than the ones listed above. However, if you’re in another region, please feel free to ask us at support@whomtech.tech, and we’ll check if we can make an exception. Taxes and duties for these are handled manually on an ad-hoc basis.
